If the file does not exist follow the following instructions: 1. Copy the files "ALPHA.EXE, ALPHA.HLP & ALPHA.TXT" into a directory of your choice. 2. Copy the files "THREED.VBX & MSCOMM.VBX" into the "WINDOWS/SYSTEM" directory 3. Make sure the file "VBRUN300.DLL" is in your "WINDOWS/SYSTEM" directory 4. VGA Video & Mouse Recommended ************************************************** PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Alpha, The Pager Program is a simple to use, but powerful interface to your alpha-numeric paging service. In order to use this software you must have an alpha-numeric pager and service from a paging company that uses the standard paging protocol. ************************************************** REGISTRATION: Registration is available on Compuserve by entering GO SWREG. The SWREG # is 3541. You can follow the simple to use prompts on Compuserve. Registration cost is only $15.00 (+ 2.95[US] s&h). If you register and supply us with an email address we will send you a registration number ASAP that you can enter when you start Alpha, The Pager Program. You will also be afforded the latest version of the software. The registered version also will allow you to enable the message log to store message that are sent. The startup screen will also no longer appear on the registered version. Change Baud Rate (the default baud rate is 300 baud - industry standard) /b:1200 /b:2400 /b:4800 /b:9600 (eg C:\ALPHA\ALPHA.EXE /b:1200 ) Change Parity/Stop/Data Bits to 8N1 (default is 7E1 - industry standard) /d:8N1 (eg C:\ALPHA\ALPHA.EXE /d:8N1 ) Change communication type to manual mode (not recommended except to try as a last resort- please note that manual mode is not compatible with sending to multiple paging services) /m (eg C:\ALPHA\ALPHA.EXE /m ) **************************************************
